A few years ago, an up-and-coming electronic music act called Nucleya played at Bacardi NH7 Weekender, the country's largest music festival. During the day. To an audience of a few hundred. That scene is unfathomable today. One cannot imagine Nucleya playing before sunset, or to an audience of less than a thousand. Such is his meteoric rise over the last few years: Moving from 'an interesting idea' to the country's largest independent musician.
A true desi phenomenon
His genius was creating seamlessly blending electronic music elements with Indian sounds. The result is a unique brand of music that cuts across audiences: A Nucleya gig will have indie music hipsters cheek-in-jowl with Bollywood devotees. His is a sound that is unabashedly Indian at heart, yet global in its appeal. Indeed, after playing the inaugural edition of the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in India, he remained the only Indian artist invited to play editions of the festival in Mexico and the flagship Las Vegas, where attendance runs into the hundreds of thousands. He followed this up with a massive North American tour, taking his unique sounds to new audiences.

It all started somewhere
Sagar's story was anything but straightforward: His music initially wasn't accepted, and there were times he struggled to pay rent. But persevere he did, along with his artist managers at Only Much Louder (OML Entertainment), and he finally found his true calling. Indeed, the success of the past five years came only after a decade of struggle and obscurity. It's a fascinating tale that saw him move from his home in Ahmedabad to the country's biggest stages.

It’s been an incredible journey, and retracing it through Ride To The Roots, with so many of the people who’ve made it possible, was very special - Udyan Sagar aka Nucleya
From the man himself
"Looking back at my journey, from growing up in Ahmedabad – where there was absolutely no gig scene in the nights, and it wasn’t easy to be an electronic music producer – to now, where I’ve been lucky enough to play music festivals across the country and world, and release albums in the most unique ways, I’m humbled by everything I’ve been able to achieve. It’s been an incredible journey, and retracing it through Ride To The Roots, with so many of the people who’ve made it possible, was very special."
